Imagine this. After traveling for miles and miles, you finally get to see your long distance partner. You decide to go to the movies. You’ve picked a good movie to see. You’ve got the pop-corn. And as the theatre lights go down you both fall silent.
Does anyone else see what’s wrong with this picture?
So you may be lucky enough to get a full weekend together, or maybe just a few hours, however long you are planning to spend with your partner, choosing a date where you are both silent for the entire time is NOT a great idea.
A better idea would be to pick some dates where you can chat and bond with one another. If you really think about it, i’m sure there are plenty of great dates you can have. But in the case that you are struggling, we have mentioned our favourites below.
Star Gazing
Drive 20 minutes away from the city lights. Take a blanket and some warm chocolate.. For the true astronomers, there is an iphone application called “Star Walk” where you can monitor the constellations and stars. This is an awesome opportunity to chat, share stories and really bond with your partner.
Ice Skating
A date at the rink can be one of the most fun of all. Chances are you will end up holding onto each others hands and wrists to try to keep yourself from falling. If it’s your first time then you may find that you fall a lot. But you shouldn’t worry, even the professionals fall over on the ice now and again. Gentlemen, never forget to give your lover a hand when she is getting up. And Ladies, please try not to snicker too much when he falls over. This date can get rather physical and pretty soon you’ll be pretending to fall just so that you can grab onto them.
Walking
Pack a picnic, a map, and go spend the day together in the wonderful great outdoors. Be sure you take a camera for those perfect picture moments, and remember to bring along a makeshift first aid kit and plenty of liquids to drink. With this date you will learn to develop your abilities to make good decisions together.
Aquarium
An aquarium is a fantastic place to spend the day with your long distance lover. Chances are during the morning it will be quite quiet and it will offer some impressive sights of dolphins swimming through the tanks. You can sit all day and talk with each other, learning cool stuff about the animals, and also learning more about one another.
Dining
It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, although it can if you wish. Sometimes your sweetheart will really be grateful for you preparing a meal for them. No matter where you pick to have a dinner date, nothing quite beats eating by candles burning and a rose on the table. And gents, let me give you some guidelines. A lady just loves it if you cook a fancy meal for them. Pasta is my personal favorite. Just remember spaghetti isn’t just for a couple of cartoon dogs to enjoy.
